Everything creditors ask about CompareDebtRecovery — the money, the anonymity, the vetting and your data.
Is it really free for creditors?
Yes — comparing agencies, being matched and using the late-payment calculator cost you nothing, with no obligation at any point. Agencies pay us a fixed fee when a creditor chooses them. You're never charged, and never pushed toward anyone.
How exactly do you make money?
One way only: the agency you choose pays us a fixed introduction fee. Every agency pays the same way, listing on the panel is free, and payment never affects who appears or in what order. We don't take commission on recoveries and we never charge creditors.
Why don't you show agency names upfront?
So agencies compete on their terms, specialisms and track record instead of marketing spend — and so your comparison is ordered purely by fit for your case. The name, credentials and contact details of the agency you choose are shared the moment you choose them.
Will I get sales calls?
No. We work by email and never cold-call. Your phone number is optional, and we only pass it to the agency you choose if you've told us you'd like them to call you.
What kinds of debt can I chase?
Unpaid commercial invoices, commercial and residential rent arrears, CCJs that need enforcing, business and personal loans, and most other debts owed to you in the UK. If your situation is unusual, start the comparison anyway — or ask us via the contact page.
What do debt collection agencies charge?
The common models are commission (a percentage of what's recovered, often 5–15% for commercial debt), no-win-no-fee (nothing unless they recover), and fixed fees for specific actions like a letter before action. Your comparison shows each agency's model side by side.
How do you vet agencies?
Before an agency can appear we check credentials, regulatory standing and track record, and we remove agencies whose standards slip. Vetting doesn't guarantee any particular outcome, but it keeps the panel one we'd choose from ourselves.
What happens to my data?
Your case details are used to build your comparison, and your contact details are shared only with the one agency you choose. We don't sell data, we don't share marketing lists, and we don't pass your details to multiple agencies.
Am I committed to anything by comparing?
No. You can request a comparison, read it, and do nothing. You're only ever committed to an agency if and when you instruct them directly, on terms you agree with them.
What if I'm unhappy with the agency I chose?
Your agreement is with the agency, so raise it with them first — but tell us too via the contact page. Complaints feed directly into vetting, and agencies that generate them don't stay on the panel.
